Alfred Zuber reaches back to the early 1970s, when he hashed in Persia and helped establish Isfahan Hash with support from Tehran. He remembers a period when new clubs were spread by mobile expatriates carrying drawings, songs, trail practices, and a direct lineage from one city to the next.

Political upheaval ended that chapter after the Shah’s departure and the 1979 revolution, but not Zuber’s involvement. He later founded Frankfurt Hash and continued hashing through other overseas assignments, including Korea.
