Episode Summary

Alouette joined Long Beach Hash in 1985 after fellow runners encouraged her to try an Easter egg trail. She was named on her first outing—standing on a pizza-parlor table while the pack sang “Alouette”—and soon became indispensable, setting twenty-five consecutive trails when few others volunteered. The club grew into an extended family and introduced her to Wild Bill, her future husband.

Her greatest legacy may be documentation: decades of mileage records, run histories, photographs, shirts, anniversary books, and other memorabilia preserving Long Beach’s culture.
