Episode Summary

Delhi Boy joined New Delhi Hash in 1985 during his first British Foreign Service posting. Persuaded past a dislike of school cross-country, he found a thriving embassy-centered club with packs of forty to one hundred, garden circles, plentiful beer and food, Himalayan and Rajasthan weekends, and typed weekly reports assembled long before the internet.

His diplomatic career carried him onward to hashes in Britain, Cyprus, South America, and elsewhere, while his Delhi roots followed him in both friendships and name. He discusses early yearbooks, the importance of Tim “Magic” Hughes’s guide, his first Interhash in Cyprus, changing communications, and the balance between running and social life.
